Unit 1
Hello!
This page is dedicated to the exploration notes that are required for unit 1 of your AS. I wont go into too much detail here as your Theatre Studies handbook should cover this also.
However you should know that the purpose of your exploration notes are to show your understanding of BOTH texts you study and should draw upon your practical exploration of the texts, and practitioners, that you cover in your sessions.
Your exploration notes must not be over 3000 words. You will will also write a live theatre review of 1000 words. When completeing your notes it will be a under controlled conditions and in essay form.
Any written tasks you are set based on your class work will be designed to help you in your controlled assessment. If you do not do this written work you will either not be able to do your controlled assessment or you will find it incredibly difficult.
I have attached three example sets of exploration notes on this page. They are grade A, C, D notes and include the examiners response to their work. Not every sixth form shows this to their students so use it to gain an insight into what the examiner is looking for!
You should consider the LANGUAGE the students use, the way they have structured their work , and how they demonstrate their understanding.
